The present perfect
The present perfect
The present perfect of any verb is composed of two elements: the appropriate form of the auxiliary verb to have (present tense) and the past participle of the main verb. The past participle form of a regular verb is raíz +ed, e.g. played, arrived, looked.
Uses
The present perfect is used for actions that occurred at a non-specific time before now. The specific time is not important. Therefore, we do not usually use specific time expressions ("this morning", "yesterday", "last year"...) with the present perfect. The present perfect can be used with non-specific time expressions ("never", "ever", "many times", "for", "since", "already", "yet"...). This concept of non-specific time is quite difficult to understand, for this reason, here are the particular uses of the present perfect.
